Selling at Auction

Selling at Auction

In today's uncertain economic climate, Selling at Auction has quickly become the destination of choice for both collector and dealer alike. Since late 2008 more collections and estates have come onto the collectibles market than at any other time. Combine that with the technological leaps and bounds in online-auctioneering, and you have the perfect recipe for one of the largest growing markets for items of all types. The internet has provided, through the work of providers like eBay, LiveAuctioneers, AuctionZip, ArtFact and others a nearly global market for antiquities. The emerging markets of East Asia and flexibility for bidding on quality items with the touch of a button have realized record prices in many collectible categories.

We leverage the market through cross-category advertising, direct-mail marketing and quality of presentation to draw a high percentage of new bidders to the market with every sale. Of course we also advertise in nationally published collector magazines and periodicals, reaching millions of potential bidders every month.

While the process of selling at auction can be a lengthy one, taking potentially many months, the returns speak for themselves. Most consignors realize double or even triple what they might have gotten for their items selling them direct to a dealer, all without the added complexity and cost of trying to market their items themselves

We are proud to be able to offer some of the most competitive rates in the market, anywhere from 25% on low-end items down to 0% on extreme high-end pieces. Our rates are negotiable and most items will fall in an 18-10% commission bracket.

If you are considering consigning Collectible Coins, jewelry, gemstones, or Precious Metals, the MAXIMUM you might pay is a 5% Commission.

Our complete Commission Rate and Fee schedule is published as part of our Consignment Contract - Please call us at 1-800-466-3836 for a consignor packet or fill out the Consignment Inquiry Form on the 'Consign Today' page below.

Suggested Authenticator List

While highly provenanced pieces from famous collections have a highly enhanced value over artifacts without provenance, we are still highly recommending pieces be authenticated prior to sale or auction in order to widen the potential buyer market.
